copper vs stainless

Recommended Posts

Copper itself is heavy and has a sink ratio of anywhere from 4 or 5 to 1 depending on the size/weight (32lb or 45lb) of it. 600 foot of 45lb copper reaches depths of approx 120 feet.

7 strand stainless is also referred to to 1 x 7 wire meaning 7 individual strands of wire are spun together to form one piece. This is most commonly used for fishing with divers (dipsy) etc. the advantage of this is the wire tends to cut through the water better and does not collect nearly as many fleas as braid does.
