Great Forum - Hello from "Dad-A-Way"

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Grew up in Erie County PA fished walleye out of Conneaut and Walnut on Erie since a small boy...  Started coming to Olcott as a teen with my dad in late 80's through mid 90's.  Life happens and I've been waiting since that time to get back.  Been a long time but I've got a 12 year old son of my own that loves to fish and I finally got a boat I can use on the lakes (at least when it's nice).

Making my way back to Olcott to fish the LOC next Friday thru Sunday for the first time in a couple of decades with my dad and one of my buddies.  I live down in Mars, PA now about a 4 hour trip hauling the boat.  My boat is a 2015 Tracker ProGuide V-175 with Cannon Riggers and 90 HP Merc.

Kids named my boat "Dad-A-Way" which sounds good to me.  Hoping for decent weather and a good bite!  Been reading a lot of posts and it's all coming back to me slowly.  Last nice King I remember taking about 20 years ago was somewhere out in 120-160 FOW off the microwave a bit East of the harbor....  Think I might just go there first next Friday.

Thanks to all that post and this is truly a great forum!

Nice opening post there karyv, sounds a lot like my earlier years as a boy going with my dad. Work comes first, then the outdoor jobs need to be finished and a promise he would take me fishing!! Some of the best days of my childhood!! Good luck in the loc. PAP.

Thanks pap! Can't wait. Wife's been calculating price of our perch and eye catch by the pound based on boat and gear cost over last several months. Figured I'd better get up to Olcott and start lowering that cost per pound 30#s at a time. LOL
