Depends on many variables. How much fishing traffic there is, catch rate, depth of water, etc. On average I will run about 35ft behind my riggers. Less if in shallow water with tight turns and more if in open water. Finding that sweet spot may take some experimenting.

Thank you Laker Taker I know 20 years ago when I used to fish up here the water wasn't as clear and I ran them closer to the ball but people have been saying since it cleared up I need to run them farther back I've heard as much as 150'

That's all good for spoons and very slight turns but your asking for trouble with flashers back that far. Just my opinion

X2. I change mine a lot. Deeper I am running, the tighter to the ball. Skinny water I run a bit farther back.
