lake trout in henderson

started fishing out of henderson harbor have made 3 trips so far have done pretty well with the staging kings and have caught a couple browns and 1 coho but have yet to catch a lake trout. i have caught a lot of them on champlaine but none in the trench i would have thought i would be picking up plenty of them . any advise would be great thanks

Fish the bottom with" cow bells" and or meat rigs...they are there in big numbers

I would just enjoy those kings at the moment, plenty of Lakers around when there aren't any kings

I have put spoons and meat rigs down only kings hitting witch is great but  nice to fill the void i like to keep the rods firing !

I was catching Lakers out in front of Calf Island in 130-150 FOW in Summer but again that was summer.. I wasn't using Cow Bells. I was using spoons. I don't have a probe so I spread things out in the water column.. One day I caught lakers, a steelhead and a king.. This time Last year I was catching laters in the trench but none so far this year.. Seems like the water temperature keeps changing too much in the trench...

Water's too warm for Lakers in the trench. Gotta go far and deep for them still.

i thought it might be do to unstable water temp i have been in the trench 3 times and only once has there been a good thermo and caught 3 kings in 2,5 hours amazing what good temps can do .
