first time from downtown toronto

Hey all

I recently got a downrigger and rod and am looking for any tips i can get about fishing near the downtown area. Me and my step dad went out once and fished off the leslie spit at about 90 FOW with a silver spoon and had no luck. Any tips on depth, lures, areas would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the site Chr. There's a bunch of great info here and the guys to back it up. I'm sure someone from the north shore will jump in and point you on your way. In the meantime, read thru the previous posts and make note of anything that may be relevant to your area. Keep the notebook with you when you go out and use it. So much to learn, but there's some awful nice fish in your area.

Ashbridges Bay. Go straight out and all of a sudden it will drop from 30/50 ft to 200 ++ feet and troll back and forth over the drop moving from east to west and visa versa. Spoons, bait, flies theyu all work here
