I put 90 pound for a wire leader but in truth I never use one unless pounding rocks. They will damage a rolling fish.

I more often than not use 100 pound braid because I have a 2500 yd spool. But i would normally use 80 lb for casting and inland trolling and 100 lb for trolling big baits on the St. Lawrence and 115 or 130 pounding rocks on Georgian Bay

30 pound 832 main, 80 pound fluorocarbon homemade leaders. Since I only fish for the big pure breeds in Chautauqua a couple of weekends a year this in plenty strong enough for good sized tigers and pike.
