Seneca Fish Kill

Just as a point of reference about the die offs in the 60's they also happened frequently in the fifties as well and it was always around the summer time. There would be piles of them spread out along and  smelling up the shoreline.

i was talking with a college student that is doing a study of how the salt is affecting seneca lake. she told me that when they had a camera down to the bottom they seen a lot of dead predator fish . anyone ever put down a camera to take a look

no nick she didn't and i didn't think of asking neither .


And if so, the DEC needs to see this and the location. They will investigate immediately. We had a salmon acting up in the marina, bagged and tagged taken to cornell, then they also were down on the lake investigating possibilities of other fish..

Report all negative activity and suspicious as well!

Those damned things can be aggressive too especially protecting the nests near docks etc. I got bitten when just a kid and the teeth from some of them are like glass shards and had to be removed by the doctor.
