I've been looking at one of these for awhile now but I don't think it would be big enough for my boat. I'm thinking I need a 60" shaft and 80 lb thrust for my 17.5' deep v??

Yes I would go 24v and the 72" shaft. This was on my 16.5' little lakes boat and worked great.

I wonder how dumb it would look to have one on a cuddy 22fter for steering like a auto pilot why kicker moves you along at 2.3-2.6 mph? Anyone give this a thought??? 2 group 29 or 31's deep cycle only type hooked together to make 24volts??

Pretty cheap auto pilot if it works, which I wouldn't know why?? Especially a powerful unit.
