Henderson Harbor Salmon Fishing

Recommended Posts

I went out late this afternoon in the kayak.  Marked a couple strays off the mountain but many more marks from 100'- 130', most were 80 feet down.  No bait pods until I hit 32' heading back in to my camp and the screen lit up with bait and bigger marks.  2-3' rollers honestly were not bad at all, not even in my 10.5' yak but did not see another boat fishing from 4:30- 8.

Tough gig out there this morning, Noaa sucks. Currents were crazy and the stable temps in the trench were gone. Managed to connect with one small brown, took a revolution spoon 95 down over 100. By the sounds of it I wasn't the only one having a tough time out there good luck if you go

We fished North of the Finger this morning. Picked up 1 mature on our copper after a laker on a rigger. Then another laker. when picking up lines to move found out we were towing a small laker. Went back up, had a tangle and then picked up 2 more lakers. One on the copper, thought it was a salmon, reeled in 450 feet of line for a jumbo laker! Hahahaha. 6 for 6.

Do you have to fish out of Henderson?
Where do you get the fish weighed?
And is a Saturday only or is Sunday a blow day?

You can fish anywhere, fish weigh is at Bedford creek marina & campground in sackets harbor. Official rules are on the website at lcsalmonshowdown.com. This week kicks off only Saturday. From there on it should be 2 day events

Click on the website, go to menu and click on rules. That should clear things up. Weigh in is a Bedford Creek Marina.

Headed out of Stony this morning and hit the Trench... large rollers on the way out. Ended up landing one. 2 came off. One broke the leader, one was user error. A good amount of short hits that came off. Flasher/Fly bite. Both riggers and dipsys got action. Salmon seemed to be hanging out of temperature. The trench is stacked and loaded with staging Kings! Have fun out there but please be courteous & respectful... there is absolutely no reason to be cutting people off or swooping directly behind trolling boats. Pick your head up, pay attention, and plan your troll path well in advance defensively.

Holy boats out in the trench today!!! Didn't see too many hookups...marking fish but no takers on my end...gotta love the guys that swerve through all the boats trying to get their zig zag pattern on. Inconsiderate scumbag in a maroon tracker right in front of me and about 4 other boats...I was the lucky guy who hooked his riggers...wtf is wrong with these guys...beautiful day out there tho...
