2 months and 3 trips in and my counter is toast already... anybody have a spare they would sell

Screwy Louie's in Fair Haven is a scotty repair center 315 947 6348 they just might have a counter in stock .

i called and they were swamped.. waiting for a call back from them but all the pulaski shops are out

I had the same problem can buy them on Amazon for like 10 to 20 bucks I don't remember exactly but they aren't real expensive

Looks like they are $29.09 on Amazon for Scotty product number 2132, which should fit downrigger models 2106, 2116, and 2101. Seems to be a common issue. I run Cannons but have heard that Scotty customer service is great. Of course you likely need a quicker fix. Hopefully Tin Cup's offer will work out.

If it is just the counter part they are universal. I had the same problem last year and called Scotty. They said they are all the same just the disks are different that the counter bolts to

Call Scotty, they will replace them free of charge. They had a problem with a certain lot number on those counters. I have a spare on the boat I will loan you if you can't find one.

Let me know if your new counters have all the numbers on them!! Scotty has had an ongoing issue with these counters with missing depth numbers and also being off on the actual depth for the last 4-5 years. My original counters were good, but had condensation getting inside, so I got new ones and they are junk!!! Replaced them 2 times now and still the same problem with missing numbers and being off on depth. Please keep us posted on this new lot!! Thanks.

How did you know they were off? Seeing them on the fish finder? Bounce bottom?

 

Truth be told I let the fish hawk tell me where to set them more than the line counter

Bouncing bottom 5-10' before the actual reading is bottom depth. Very frustrating, I have gotten used to it, but I should not have to worry about it. But missing numbers is a huge thing also.
