Stripped Lower Unit (Upper) Drain Plug

I've been noticing residual oil on the lower unit of my 1987 Evinrude 225hp outboard.  I unscrewed the upper plug to replace the Teflon seal and found that the threads are stripped out.  (Explains the leaking oil, huh?)  I'm supposed to be pulling the boat up there next week and figure that I need to fix this before then.  Any idea how to repair this?  Is there a temp fix to get me by for next week?  I've done a Google search and have found a bunch of articles but, I figured that I'd reach out to all of you because this site has been very helpful in the past.  Thanks in advance!  HELP!

Re-tapping it may work or in the absence of that, a Helicoil will probably do it since it's aluminum. Any way you look at it you're going to have to buy a tap or a kit.  I have a machine shop in my basement if you were closer.
