glow in the dark deep cranks for walleye

Recommended Posts

2nd Jeff J...Bandits make glo deep divers.   I custom paint so I’ve never needed to use glo colors.  I do add UV additive to my paints.  Does it help? I can’t say for sure but I put plenty of eyes in the box for my customers.  Personally, I prefer vibrancy over glo any day.  If interested, send me a PM and I’ll send you pics of my colors.  Yes, I have a ton of bandits even deep husky jerks that could be painted up, if interested.

In my travels, i have never found glow to be any sort of productive for night walleye.  I do a lot of night fishing for walleye and i would never put one out.

very interesting. only thru the ice have I used it. I don't fish eyes alot I fish more salmon and trout but was curious. is it maybe their eye structure? or something biological?

Yes, right on...  I'd rather use a bright obnoxious looking lure on a high sun clear day.

The walleye eye is already unique in it's ability to see at night or in low light levels. Any sort of glow would not be natural. Concentrate on vibration and wobble. Remember to never troll beneath them. They won't go down to hit a trolling bait but tests show they will come up 30ft to strike.

GunnySargent has painted many baits for me and his deep husky jerks are a great go to for.me.  Personally for me i like a white or orange belly with mostly natural colors on the sides and top.   Purples are a must have.  I've also had a lot of luck with clear bodies

My buddy put a glow out in our program the other night and wouldnt u kno we caught one on it..... i agree with you though. Do not think they are anything special and never run one personally. Guess, Sometimes you just never kno with an eye, lol.

Not sure if everyone would agree but here’s a few somewhat natural colors, except the purple, white with black stripes.  Then there’s a bright obnoxious color(last 3 pics).  Would also agree with Landshark, clear or a color called bare naked has been a proven an excellent walleye color.
