Orleans County Fishing Report for October 17, 2017

Today is Tuesday October 17, 2017.

The cool down of last night brought frost to some areas but not the nearby shoreline of Lake Ontario.

Temperatures will be back up into the 60s and 70s for the rest of the week with no rain in sight.

There are salmon all through the “Oak”, Johnson Creek, Marsh Creek and Sandy Creek but they are spotty due to the fact that they are spread out so much.

Water conditions on all of the tributaries within Orleans County are slowing slightly and clearing, but still very fishable.

This is a horrible post! The crowd attracted to the salmon run are the most unethical fisherman in the world. Even though these places are already well know, this just reminds the few who forgot.

You want to do good for this fishery? Use the legislators in Orleans county to increase fines for snagging and over limits so it hurts these people who call themselves fisherman. Also, get the courts in your towns to enforce the maximum fines for these people.

Oh wait..... That will hurt your tourism dollars....
