Chlorine smell offshore

Wonder if anybody else noticed the smell of chlorine near the 28 to 32 north line at 15 to 13 west from the Oak...every so often a wiff came and it was pretty strong... son noticed it too. Also heard of a cargo ship calling on the radio to check the radar return in his course of travel...the return on the radio was the Canadian Coasties doing a water sample in the shipping lanes...just wondering what this was about.

We were fishing out of Sandy Creek and noticed the same smell on Sunday. We were only in 130fow.

I know some places like water treatrment and power plants use the stuff to clean the zebras off the intake tube but this was a very large amount of smell I think.
