I just finished a week long stay at the 'Lake Lodge'. It was nothing short of ice fishing paradise. The location is very nice. 5-15 min sled ride to many of the fishing grounds. The accommodations are amazing.... it feels like a home away from home. Very cozy. Heated garage to dry out all your gear after a day on the ice. Most everything provided to make your stay comfortable. Really just need food, cocktails, and fishing gear! Owner was an excellent communicator throughout the entire rental process and went above and beyond to make sure our group had a wonderful experience..... Great location, great property, great fishing!! Already planning our trip next year.

Sounds like a place to be.  I'm very interested and will be contacting broker if we decide to do a trip next year.  A couple quick questions to those who have been there...

1. I have a 4 wheeler (no snowmobile)...I'd rather not trailer it from Binghamton ny up there if I don't have to...is there good fishing close enough to walk right out and fish?  The other guys in my group have no sled or wheeler (total of 4 guys and 2 kids)

2.  What species of fish are we going to expect to target if we did just walk from lodge out on ice...I'm hoping walleye, perch, pike in that order.

3. Local bait shops I'm assuming

Ill ask rest of questions to Amanda...but the place looks great and really affordable.  Thanks for sharing.

Agreed! Chaumont Hardware has excellent gear, bait, and knowledgeable staff. Also, greg (owner) will go out of his way to help you out. The customer service is second to none. Cant say enough great things about chaumont hardware. The hours are convenient too. Open at 6am most days during the ice fishing season. Earlier on local derby weekends. They got us out of a pickle more than once, like mentioned their staff is some of the nicest and informative staff I’ve met in the LakeO area.
