Well. I still owe this thread some completed pics!

Got some additional projects going on.

New transom
New main / new controls
New graph
Some bolsters / pads up front
Access panel in the rear
Access / panel up front

Hoping to have all this done in the next couple weeks. Transom is already done and it was a good call on my part. It would have prob lasted a few more years but she would have never supported a 4 stroke. She is currently resting under cover and once I pull it out I'll be doing outdoor installs so I'm holding off till we get a decent break in weather.

I replaced my floor in my GLS about 5 years ago because it was getting to soft. I found out the water damage seeped into the wood from around the two extra pedistal seats that were in the back. So when I re did the floor I left them out. The floor came out great.

Not sure what the adhesive was but think I ordered it from cabelas. I'll see if that container is still around but I doubt it. Here's a picture of how we made up templates for each side of the floor. I keep my bow in the walk thru layout most of the time. Only time I put the insert in is when I'm just cruising for the day with people. Had my boat for 11 years now and love it. I use it for shad fishing in the Delaware river at home.I just got it repowered at end of last season with a new 115 Yamaha 4 stroke. Will probably uncover it in the next 3 or 4 weeks and run it.

this is what i'v been looking for i'v got a 1995 sea nymph 195 GLS and want to replace my floor. i think the floor layout is about the same as yours. i'm taking on water and would like to try and find out just where it's coming from after the floor is out.

There is quite a bit of foam in these boats so finding the hole may be tough. Make sure if you replace foam you do it with closed cell or something comparable.

You may luck out and see where the "wettest" spots are and be able to isolate. Thankfully, mine is bone dry and short of taking some waves inside my bilge has never ran.

I can see foam when I remove the seat pedestal bases and the foam is wet . I'm thinking its waterlogged along with the plywood flooring wet also. The water most likely is coming from the livewell supply hose that must have been rubbing on something. For now I'll just cap off the intake until I decide what I'm going to do and watch a bunch of videos on YouTube. Thanks for your input all is very helpful and welcome.

Ejb, let me know if you need any info. I have a 93, did the floor project with foam, flooring etc. I left the console floor to the bow untouched. There’s two separate sheets of metal, one on each side of the cover for the gas tank. I had them remade at a local metal shop eliminating the back seat holes. This is where the water got into the foam. It’s not a big project. The passenger / drivers seat had wood under the floor they were screwed to so that needed to be replaced. If you have a leak you can set the boat in the water with the floor up and foam removed to be sure you found it. If you haven’t replaced your transom yet I’d take a look there as well.

Thanks for your info I'm taking in all I can get. And yes the transom is another concern that has been on my mind and don't know if I want to get into that. Again thanks

Check out www.iboats.com the forums section. There are plenty of tin boat rebuilds with instructions and pictures of how to do everything. Great resource!!

Just did the transom on mine too. It was time. It actually was fairly solid around where the main mounts / center but spongy on the outsides. After the transom came out, it was pretty bad throughout. But, before I put a new main on, I knew I should do it to be safe.

ok guys i found my leak i have some corrosion on the bottom starboard side just about under the helm and not just one spot . i poked am awl through from underneath the boat no resistance at all. so i put a little marine sealant over it and after taking the boat out i had very little water drain out after putting it on the trailer. now my question could the corrosion be electrolysis from my electric trolling mtr. mounted on the bow and in the water on that side of the boat and should the batteries be bonded to the hull ?

Electrolysis usually occurs in fresh water by a boat being moored in a marina with some electric current entering the water.  I know of another Sea Nymph which had batteries mounted up front for an electric motor and had corrosion in the helm area because battery acid had leaked over time.

I did a full restoration on my GLS in 99 and the 1st thing it did was sink, do to cracked line from live well line that runs from transom. If yours has one, plug the intake and outlet ports in transom and see if leak goes away. I put new lines in mine and was good to go but never use live well. Being it's up front it sloshes around to mush in heavy seas and splashes out on to the deck to much.

I had plugged both the intake and the drain and still had lots of water so I crossed that off. I will  replace both lines when I get the floor out. As to the other problem I'll have to see how bad it is after I  remove the floor and flotation. Thanks for your reply.
