Spooling 7 strand stainless wire

Recommended Posts

You want it nice and tight. What I did was use a long screwdriver. I put it through a tennis ball then put on the spool and then another tennis ball then clamped it in a vise.

The way I do it is 20 feet of 50# mono then 1000 feet of wire, then I fill the reel with 50# braid. Then I hook my braid to another reel ( the same size) and reel it on. Use the drag on the first reel to keep it tight.
The 20 feet of 50 # mono is to make deployment and storage of your wire rods easer.

Tie it to the spool, then I use stranded shipping tape and put length ways across the spool and put it on tight like others have said.  The tape keeps it from slipping on the spool. The filiments help the wire to bind it all together.
