IBay Perch

Recommended Posts

Fished the bay this morning. There are tons of white perch in the bay,I think its making it harder to find the yellow's. Gave up the search and went up to the channel markers, ended up with about 35 good perch. Seamed like the only place the wind was blowing was at the bay. Over all it was a good day.

WWIV,

The bay was not the only place. It was blowing right up the gut on Conesus when I was there pike and bass fishing today.

The pike/tiger musky fishing was slow. The smallmouth were going really good.

Where's the best place to launch on the bay? Never been up there to fish but may try to put some perch in the pan. I'd be launching a 18' OB.

There is a state launch on the north west side of the bay. 590 north ends at the launch. Docks are usually in till about the first of November when they remove the bridge.

Thanks for the reply TO. Anywhere near the launch to get minnows (emeralds or goldies)?

Took a friend out to the lake for the first time from 7-9 Friday night. Marked bait and fish from 80-90 FOW east of IBAY but not one bite. I ran divers (no riggers)from 40ft to bottom with spoons and ff. Not many boats out there, maybe I missed something (no temp probe). Any tips appreciated. Thanks in advance. • IBay help

Hey all - been reading these posts for a few years - never posted.  Started fishing 5 years ago - so still a newbie as I do not do enough catching.  fish from a 19' Keywest CC and mostly salmon hunt. Learned enough to start putting fish in the boat a few years ago, and spring fishing has been good to me the last few years.  Managed a skunking Saturday morning (8am - noon) and wanted to avoid that this weekend.  I struggle this time of the year - I saw boats from 60' to 200' and everywhere in-bet

    • Perch Advice Needed!

I have been bringing my family up to Alex Bay for years now and when the kids were smaller catching any fish was great (well, it still is!).  But, now they are a little older and LOVE to catch perch and have a fish fry if we catch enough.  The problem is, for the past three years I have been up with them we have only gotten into some really tiny perch - if any.  Are there recommendations for where to go and what to fish with if we want to catch perch mid-july?  We will be there (right in Dingman
