The magic “transformation “

Driving to Allegany County Friday afternoon for Saturday’s deer gun season opener, I joined A convoy of vehicles heading south loaded with “cityots” heading to their deer camps. Escaping their home rulers is their main objective, the deer are secondary. Every seat in the Belfast restaurant was taken with wall to wall guys enjoying their preseason dinner and schmoozing with old friends. The transformation of the local grass widows was missing. No new hairdos and sneakers were to be seen so the presence of many“old coots” ran them off. By 8:30 PM the crowd disappeared and it was early bed time for the dawn opening.
