In-Line Trolling Sinkers

Cabin fever has lead to watching numerous Youtube videos on salmon fishing technique. In particular some techniques utilized in the pacific northwest.

 

Has anyone ever utilized inline trolling sinkers (8, 12 or 16 oz) off wire on Lake O?

 

Curious on the depth control and success of this type of set up.

Never on salmon but I use them on inline boards for walleye...works really well on them.

Also used them for walleye on boards, but never anything that big. Usually run between 1-3oz with no problems. I'd look into weighted steel or copper setups before I ran a 12oz inline weight personally.

I use .5 to1 oz on boards with spoons for browns

look up "thumper rod" yes used on lake O.

Appears both thumper rods and "tail-gunners" are often used.
