Oswego River report:

With no significant precipitation over the last few days, the water level is slowly continuing to drop running at 13,400 cfs as of this morning. This remains a high water level for bank fishing so the lower east side behind the hotels is a suggested spot to try. Anglers have found browns, rainbows and a few walleyes using jigs or bottom bouncing egg sacs.

Notice: The bridge to Leto Island is closed, and there are mandatory personal flotation device (PFD) zones on the river. For more information, view the Brookfield Varick Fish Safely Brochure below. The Oswego Fire Department offers loaner life jackets at no charge through its “Loaner for Life” program. For more information contact the fire station, 35 E. Cayuga St., at 315-343-2161.
