Has Lake Erie frozen over yet?

Lake Erie is pretty much open-satellite pics show some ice in far western basin.  So the lake effect machine is still cranking.

mr 580, where do you get your sattelite view from? All my links don't work because of the government shutdown.

Weather.com had a story from a day or two on coverage on the lakes.  Percentage of coverage is up in last week but still pretty small percentage.  After next weeks cold snap could change.  Agree most of sites are down.

i was just told the bay is still frozen but not the lake....

There is ice building behind the ice boom but it looks like there are gaps with open water from recent winds. This is from the view from the skyway in Buffalo. The lower Niagara will be a mess from the muddy water and ice chunks coming down the river.
