I set my outside back 150’ middle 140’ and inside 130’ . Just let them straight out behind the boat and set in release. I will run a 1/4 sinker 60’ from my spoon if needed. Always have to change things up until you find what they want. Bay rats and stick baits are also hot right now. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Just add a couple of split shot to them. 6-8' from the spoon.

A C;

Agree w/Leg on the placement of the weight (basically one rod length from the lure) ,  however I use rubber core sinkers because they don't nick/pinch the line.

good luck!

X3 - except when in very shallow water. The split shot can also serve to isolate strands of seaweed or debris from clogging up your lure hooks

I find it odd that someone with 5 posts asking how to troll spoons is billing himself as a charter ( aluma charters) I guess if you got a boat you can be a guide.

Charter has different definitions other than someone who charges money to take people fishing. Very possible he could be a charter pilot, have attended/works at a charter school, among other things. I also didn't see anywhere he "bills himself" as a fishing charter captain/mate. Maybe he's an ex-tuna charter, doubt they spend much time trolling spoons in 10fow for tuna.  It's just his handle here, it might not have anything to do with himself as a person. Could just be a new guy asking a simple question.
