Here is a 4 rod rocket launcher that mounts flush to the top of a hardtop, the rod holders hang slightly over the end of the hardtop. No damage to them, could use a good polishing. Backer plates included.

Center to center on the mounting pads is 37", outside to outside is 40 1/4". Looks like the mounting pads will be approximately 6" in from the back of the hardtop.
