kicker motor bracket

I have a yamaha  9.9 ,4 stroke kicker and wonder if i could mount it on a Panther 2 stroke bracket even though it says not to . has any body done this and why not

I just bought the 4 stroke bracket. I'm pretty sure its because of the weight of the 4 stroke motor

i bought the wrohg 2 stroke  bracket and can not return it i would like to use it for my 4 stroke motor

Which bracket? Mine says it will hold a 20hp 2 stroke but can't have a 4 stroke mounted to it. I would think it would still work for a 4 stroke.

I got to imagine your motor is pushing the weight limit of the bracket. I think it is 115 lbs. Even with the safety cable I dont know if I would take that chance. If it was me I would try to sell it and buy the 4 stroke bracket

mine is on a 20hp  2-stroke mount and its been fine for 2 years so far. my 4 stroke weight is 108 the mount is good for 125 lb motor.

If I was in that situation, I would try and sell the 2-stroke bracket and get the 4 stroke bracket.  Those brackets take a lot of stress and why chance dropping an expensive motor in the lake?
