Scotty snubbers and probe

How are you guys using the Scotty snubbers with the X4 probe. I used it for the first time yesterday and had to use the Breakaway cable as well to make the connections work. I would just like to be able to use the snubber between the probe and the ball but the attachments on the snubber do not allow for that.

On mine I inserted the strongest split ring I could find through the bottom hole. Then inserted the same snap swivel I have on my downriggers. And then the Scotty snubbers with the ball.

I actually come up with this today. 1/8 inch stainless steel chain connector

I use the break away Cable that came with the fishhawk. Should I be concerned about using it?

Cable is only rated for 12 pound weights. Plus it shortens things up a bit .

The main reason why I use the Scotty snubbers is to prevent more break on the cable.
