new to me sea nymph ss195

Just read a post about a member rebuilding a  sea nymph ss195. I just bought the same boat, and will redo the interior in the future. Right now the 1975 850 mercury is a mess. The wiring harness is all mucked up, wiring has been replaced with splices, soldered, and poorly terminated black wire. I've bought a new harness and will replace what's there now. Here's a couple of pic of what I'm working with.

My neighbor bought the same boat 2 years ago with a 100 merc that had issues. I recommended he treat it like a boat anchor and put on a new Yamaha 4 stroke. He bought a new 90 Yamaha VMax. Incredable engine !! Saved lots of trouble and will never look back.
