Notice: Due to high water levels, a local state of emergency order for a “No Wake Zone” has been established for boats 1,000 feet from the Lake Ontario shoreline and tributaries. All motorized boats within 1,000 feet of the shoreline and within these waterways must operate at an idle speed.

Notice: Now through Labor Day, New York State is offering free fishing on Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. Also, 30 state parks along the shores are offering half-price vehicle entry and camping.

Lake Ontario/Oswego River report:

According to Capts. Robin and Todd Sheltra of Strike Zone Charters:

Here is what is happening on the Morgan the last three days. Things are a little challenging right now due to wind and storms moving around our cold water. We are managing to put fish in the box despite the conditions.

    • Kring point fishing

I’m headed to Kring point Wednesday for 6 days. I’ve never been there before but I’ve read almost everything I can find on fishing up there. I was planning on just fishing in the bay that’s there but I read somewhere that it’s overwhelmed with weeds this time of year? Basically I’m just looking to catch anything that I can put in the cooler, pike, perch, if I’m lucky maybe come walleye or crappie. Anyone have any input, tips? Thanks.

These came with a boat I bought and I prefer my Cannons so these are for sale. I'm fairly sure these are the Captain's Pack version (not very familiar with Big Jon riggers), they are in excellent condition. Both riggers come with dual heavy duty rod holders and ball cradle mount, 48" boom, swivel mounts, scotty brand ball retrievers, complete battery cable, bunch of extra linecounter springs, manual handles. I will include a pair of 8lb coated balls with scotty adjustable pinch releases if you p

    • Wayne County Fishing Report for September 17, 2019: Kings, Brown Trout and More

Lake Ontario- The lake flipped so there should be some action from the Maxwell Creek area or from the piers at Sodus Bay.   Most charter boats are out of the water, with a few Wayne County captains fishing the Genesee River.   The kings have been in 100 fow, and there has been plenty of hooks on the graphs, however this is the time of year that they aren’t hungry. Try cut bait or spoons and fish the marks. There are plenty of fish. You just need to get them to bite.
