Fished the Fair Haven Challenge out of Port bay Saturday. Definitely seemed bigger than the 1-3 that was forecast to me. I was thinking more like 2-4 maybe 3-5 to start. Couldn't buy a fish for the first 2.5 hrs except a couple short bites. Finally found some action around 140fow 100 down. Green Dolphin spinny and green hammer flies and meat on Minion rigs. Rigs were custom made to look as close as possible to the chromeo pattern. (not making the chromeo any more). Looked like we may have a chance at a decent box when we doubled up on a couple screamers. One gets into the down rigger cable that we failed to clear, gone with a new meat rig and a spinny. The other pulls the hook, gone. Not much time left after that and we only had 4 in the box. We decided that it wasn't worth weighing in a 4 fish box in a 6 fish tourney and we would just keep fishing for an LOC fish since the sun came out and the lake laid down. Put a couple more in the boat and called it a day. Good time either way.
