Cayuga Cayuga Power Plant- end of an era

Recommended Posts

The coal fired plant on Cayuga Lake formerly known as Milikan Station and later AES Cayuga burned the last of its coal Thursday afternoon and is now permanently closed. There are plans to convert it to a "data center" housing "cloud storage".

I fondly remember going fishing there in winter with my son when he was but 8 years old. All the rainbows and landlockeds. But it is a good thing that the plant is no longer sucking in millions of tiny fish only to kill them while cooling the generators and producing steam.
