Looking for a Johnson outboard mechanic ? It starts rough once started runs good.no top end though

Where are you located? Also, this is a tough time of the year, with all the boats being serviced and winterized. Hopefully you don't have an immediate need.

I'm in Auburn not afraid to drive to a good mechanic . Not in a big hurry either

Pugsly's on 104 in Ontario or Arney's on Sodus Bay are two in my neck of the woods.

Thanks for the advice. Yankee troller I know arneys  just sold out to another outfit I bought the motor off of them a few years back. I don't know if they have the same mechanics. they said they were real busy winterizing. I'll see if pugsly's can look at it . Thanks again , genks

What about the guy on the south end of Owasco Lake?, Or even better Owasco Marine on 38A? Those guys are helpful and quite good at what they do.

With the decline in the number of Johnson and Evinrude dealers post the OMC bankruptcy, some that just wont work on old outboards period, and it being the middle of October, my advice would be to get in line somewhere and hope they can fit you in.  If someone is not busy this time of year, I would ask why not or at least think about it.  I had a problem with my Evinrude in August and expected when I made the phone call that I would have to wait, which I did ten days.
