Late trolling for Browns and Steelhead

Recommended Posts

As the streams and near shore waters cool, the browns and rainbows move in. The browns move in to spawn around the end of deer season. The rainbows move in to spend the winter in the streams and spawn in the spring when the water temperatures reach 45 degrees and return to the lake. They feed on salmon eggs over the winter in the Pacific rivers.

Thanks for the inspiration to get out there this afternoon. It was a slow pick at first as I tried to find the right depth and then it was on for the last hour and a half.

I went 12/13 on browns and 3/4 on small steelies. Half of the browns were nice fatties but nothing really big.

All bites were around 20fow, 5-10’ down. Same program as spring.
