4 years ago I pulled the boat out of storage on March 7th. Went out the next day and caught a couple browns. Next day the weather went to hell and didn't get out again until April 14th. I'll wait a couple weeks.

With a outboard engine that is self draining you are good to go 365 days a year. Only a battery charger that has a self maintenance stage that is plugged in will keep you on the water on the lower Niagara River all winter long.

We usually shoot for April 1. We've launched as early as March 28 and as late as April 18. Once we approach the end of March, I look for the full moon, and see if we have any freezing temps in the extended forecast. Once you pass the full moon in April, you are usually good
