SCGFA update - Dalhousie docks & Spring Salmon Derby

With much thought & consideration the St Catharines Game & Fish Association made the following decisions based on the current situation with the COVID-19 virus.

We will not be able to put the other docks in at the launch ramp at Port Dalhousie. There is still the one winter dock in and it will remain open & FREE to use at your own risk. There will not be any of our staff servicing the launch ramp area & their will not be a washroom available to use. We encourage everyone who can, to get out & fish & enjoy the outdoors in a safe appropriate way.

The start date of the Spring Salmon Derby is currently postponed until further notice. We will also be postponing the Early bird draws until the night before the Derby begins. All those who qualified, your names are set aside and will remain eligible. If anyone wishes to have their tickets refunded then it will be given, no questions asked. Your current ticket will be destroyed & you may purchase a new one before the derby resumes.

The Ontario MNR has decided they didn’t want to put anyone at further risk so there will be not be any Net Pen Imprinting Stocking projects at all in Ontario this year. All Salmon & trout stocking will continue, but will be directly stocked.

Our Tackle Share program with the public libraries will be cancelled for the 2020 year.

We are hopeful to still have the Port Dalhousie 3x3 Salmon Classic as scheduled in May.

Take care everyone!
