Browns in June

The one problem with june can be that the temperature is good for the fish just about everywhere. That can make fishing spotty by spreading them out but doesnt mean you cant catch fish. I fish out of Mexico. Thats typical every year. Things are better later in june and the very beginning can be ok too.

The traditional wisdom is that in the 'summer' browns will be where the thermocline hits the bottom. June isn't typically  a month when the thermocline has set up but the browns still relate to structure more than some of the other species. They like 55 degree water and if there is a lot of it then as others have pointed out they can be spread around pretty good. The Alewives spawning in shallow water in late spring/early summer will certainly attract browns and others species but when the bait is thick it can sometimes be tough to find a good bite .
