Seneca?

Recommended Posts

A buddy and I fished the north end of Seneca Saturday from 8:30 AM until 6:30 PM, jigging for lake trout.  He was the lucky one---he had one hit.  I can't believe this is the same lake I fished from 2003-2011.  We had weekends where we jigged up over 50 nice lakers.  I've fished Seneca six weekends so far this year and managed three lake trout.  SAD!

No doubt Seneca has some needed work coming. I’m guessing the best shot at getting lakers is trolling to cover sq bottom. Still fishing or jigging might be rough right now unless your on top of one. 30-40 first light on bottom or 50-100 near edges bottom fishing towards north end would be the only hope. Slow trolling. Anything faster for lakers forget it. You could always troll faster for landlocked though. Just tough to do both. I sure would be releasing any caught. If your looking for dinner table fare hit Cayuga. Seneca needs all the help she can get right now.
