Finding summer salmon on east side of Lake Ontario

Recommended Posts

Going to the 1000 Islands near Clayton, NY in mid July.  We want to trailer the boat to somewhere along the east side of Lake Ontario and spend a day targeting summer salmon.  Looking at the depth charts the north east corner of the lake is very shallow.  We could drive all the way back to the Oswego area but I'm looking for some launching recommendations between Henderson and Pulaski? Or would that be to shallow in that area?  Also, recommended strategies in these areas? Thank you!

Henderson , Wescott Beach, sackets harbor launches to acess the trench mountain area or shipping lanes, stoney creek to acess trench and mountain and finger and main lake on nicer days, cape vincent and mud bay to acess shipping lanes near the border

Download the Navionics app on your phone, just as good if not better maps than you will find on most mapping cards.

I have had Navionics for years. The "Fishing Hot Spots" was what I was referring to. It explains what different areas are called. Like the "shipping lane, the wall" as well as other fishing areas.
