Morning:

Great mix of fish today! This kid experienced Lake Ontario at it's best. He caught the biggest fish of his life wieghing in at 21lbs, and got his first ever limit of Salmon. That's what this job is all about. We boated an Atlantic Salmon, Coho Salmon, obviously some Chinook Salmon, and a Steelbow. At the end of the day we dropped a small Late Trout behind the boat, so we were a Brown Trout short of a slam.

Familiar Bite took a good portion of our Chinook, as well as the largest of the day. A-TOM-MIK coppers in 300 & 400' lengths, Downriggers from 50-100', and divers out 175' are the set-ups that took fish. FishUSA's DW Martel and the Rod Father were our best spoons. We fished from 90-150' most of the day a click or two West. At one point we wandered out as far as 225', but screen wasn't great out there.

Afternoon:

Our Sunday afternoon trip with some local Rochestarians stared out great, but slowed after the first few hours. No big surprise though after looking at the lunar table. We set up on a minor.

We fished 90-110' most of the night. Spoons that took fish were DW Lazer Spook and FishUSA's Glow Roy Boy. Familiar bite meat also took a couple shots. Our Cannon Downriggers fished from 45-80', A-TOM-MIK copper in 300', and wire divers out 150 all took fish. The last 30 minutes we slid in and went 1/3 on Brown Trout. The lone fish to hit the Grizzly was fooled by a DW SS Glow Green Alewife.

Great Post Yankee.  Coming from Ohio next week to Oak for the forth year in a row.  One question for you, is that typical to run deeper in the morning?

Not quite sure what you mean, but use your electronics to give you a starting point. If you're marking fish and the temps are good fish in.

Question about the coppers. This time of year what are you usually running behind them?

You can run anything behind them. Spoons, Plugs, Flasher/Flies, and Meat.
