Did not have any luck finding the stagers...we targeted the bottom in 80-110 FOW and marked very little with only one strike but it got came off.  Buddy of mine had caught over 20 matures in the same area the week prior.  The weather and wind were not great which definitely didn't help.  The constant east wind has brought in the ice water - i was marking 48 degrees only 30 feet down.  We were able to salvage the trip by moving out into 300 FOW and finally found some bait in one particular area which we pounded for several hours producing a 15 lb immature King and 12 steelhead, almost all good size.  Disappointing regarding the matures, but glad I was able to get my first two experiences on Lake Ontario this year -- looking forward to next year!  Thanks for everyone's help!
