Cold water inside late season

Recommended Posts

I’ve seen several posts about the ice cold water in close lately on the south shore. I’m new to the trolling game, can anyone explain what that does to the fishing?  Seems like people are trying to avoid the cold water now?  Is that not good? Thanks!

when the cold water moves on shore the lake has flipped. this usually happens after a couple days of strong north or northeast wind. you have to go to deeper water where the warm water and cold water meet. this usually results in some good fishing but the temperature break can be a ways offshore. in the fall there still may be matures in the cold water.

That is an upwelling of deeper cold water which replaces warm surface water that moves offshore with offshore winds.
