Where to mount planner board reels

Recommended Posts

Steiger Craft Miami? A friend has Cisco retrievers on his 255. He uses a rail mount on the rear cabin grips and run the line up to the front of the hardtop. Use a rail mount on the top handrail with a short offset to hold the pulley just clear of the hardtop. Power switches are installed inside cabin near the reel’s do you can reach and operate both easily.

I bought a new boat and I’m looking to mount a planner board reel. I want one that’s is not permanent because I spend most of the time in the salt. There’s not much room on the side of the pilot house. Any ideas?

Here is how I mounted mine on the hard top. Switch is just inside the pilot house so I can reach the line and switch at the same time when needed. Had Cisco make the arm for the pulleys a little longer. Works perfect.
