Flashers vs spin doctors

Over the winter I’m getting a selection together, what do you preferred to use and why , I’ve made the trip to Lake Ontario for 4 years now and did pretty good but I know I could do better , I kinda like the salmon candy line  , can switch flies without having to re tie the leaders , what’s you thought.

Agree on the mix, but elaborating...
Mix of size on either Spindoctor or Flasher
Mix of Color of fly
Mix of leader length from flasher back to fly
Mix of speed

Ps: my best combo, white Pearl glow spindoctor with a-Tom-mik mirage fly, 20” +/- an inch,

Not sure what you mean about being able to change out flies on the Salmon Candy flashers.  Tie an overhand knot in fly leader at end and you can pass loop through attachment point on any brand flasher, then pass hooks and fly through that loop after it is through swivel and pull tight.  Easy to reverse that to change out.  Note the second pic is out of sequence and is really 3rd in the steps to attach a fly with an overhand knot to a spin doc.

What he is referring to is you can change out the leader to use on other flies but your only able to on Salmon candy fly’s only.

The duolock snaps are the simplest option as noted above but there is also a sort of corkscrew gizmo (Don't know actual name for it) that simplifies changes of flies too

Do yourself a favor and go buy some bigger duo lock snaps and put one on the back swivel . That way you can change easier without having to put a  larks head knot to it .

Not a fan of doing it that way - I know a lot of guys do but for me the overhand knot is the way to go.  Once I marry a fly to a flasher they stay together until they stop producing - sometimes they are good for a week, and sometimes all season - depends on the combo.
