when are they shocking the trout?

does anyone know where and when they will be shocking the trout this year because my science class would like to make it a field trip to go see it

I would recommend that you and your class go down to the Genny river when the DEC brings the fish for the pen rearing.

call your local (county) DEC office and they will tell you dates and approx. times for the stockings - but they cannot give you exact times as they stock a few streams or lakes in the same day with the same crew. Can't tell where you are from your post, but the Chemung county guy was VERY nice and informative on the phone
