Considering purchase of 16' aluminum boat in Canada, (Port Severn)  Basic open fishing boat, about 400# , no trailer, boat only. Dealer will deliver  to Niagara Falls, Ca, but, how to get to NYS with the travel restriction is the issue/problem.  Does anyone have any insight, suggestions on a possible , practical,  solution to this issue  ? any input would be appreciated.  Thank you, Willie

Not real familiar with that area. If it's possible...Handle the payment and paperwork electronically. Have the dealer have the boat in the water. Go up with a trailer and a buddy with his boat. Throw a rope and tow it back. Maybe you can get a local up there to bring it over.

Yikes, if you try that idea of towing it back across the water/border have someone on standby with lots of bail money. I have some experience shipping industrial equipment across the border and it is not easy. Brokers to get thru customs etc. are necessary. More problems with Covid lockdown.

Did it once. Make sure your outboard is up to EPA standard with EPA label otherwise you will get stuck at customs. Do not cross on weekends because importation experts will be off. Not worth the aggravation. With no NAFTA you will pay large importation tax even on USA made boat/trailer.
