Walleye Bite?

Any word on the walleye bite? Have heard some reports from the eastern basin of Lake Ontario. Some say their shallow and hugging bottom while others are saying they are deep and suspended. Everyone seems to be catching them everywhere. Just wondering what other people have to say.

This is the 1st season i was skunked opening weekend. Glad to hear others are catching them but concerning that i may have issues with the boat. I worked three entire bay shallow to deep without catching a single eye.

I too didn't catch a single walleye Sunday.  Activity this time of year can be water temperature dependent.  Large, shallow bodies of water (like west Lake Erie) are seeing water temps well into the low 50's

 

I fished Otsego lake this weekend and water temps were still 43 degrees.  Wasn't anything shallow happening at all yet.  This time last year I caught them cast, after cast.....
