Point peninsula

Had a great week of boating and fishing with the family up north. We decided to go for bass instead of the finicky east end walleyes. We are rather new to smallie s but managed to get plenty, found fish to be in the 8 to 20 fow zone and hungry for the drop shot. Fished around the head of point, the isthmus and grenadier. When we weren’t fishing we were touring all over the region in the boat. Those of you who reside up there are fortunate to have a variety of quality species of fish to target! Wow that's a lunker. Back when I was his age I don't think I ever broke 3lbs for smallies out in lake O but the numbers were always consistent. More of a quantity over quality type of fishing. Now 4+lb and into the 6 range has become more and more common.
