Can anyone identify this rudder?

Cleaning out my brother in laws garage I came across this rudder. He rebuilt several wooden boats. He passed away I am sure someone somewhere could use one of these.Its brass I did not clean it up. Any info would be appreciated.

What is the diameter of the shaft? 

Looks like one I could use as a spare with modifying the shaft.

Shaft dia. is 1" there is a 3/4 inch square drive on the end. guess weight 10lbs.

I have no Idea what its worth . The owner rebuilt antique wooded boats.

IMHO it's worth whatever you can get at the scrap yard.  If it would actually fit someone's boat without modifications $$ I would be surprised. Finding some one that could actually use it as is would be a bonus.i may be completely off base with my opinion,  you could try something like Antique Classic boats or Chris Craft Ownership Group on Facebook , and see if anyone there might know its worth .

I would have to modify this. 

I would need to replace the shaft with 1 1/4 inch and bore out the rudder to fit.

 I will probably polish it up and put it on the fireplace mantle. Someday someone will need this..

Maybe off a old penn Yan tunnel drive??

Size and shape screams 50s . Short shaft isn't working on any glass boat with more than 2* of deadrise.. Slap it on your wall of fame as you mentioned.
