State wide fishing regulations change - April 1, 2022

Recommended Posts

The section for finger lakes says there are changes for warm water species. The section for region 7 says that all lakes and streams will be under statewide regulations. It’s not clear until they publish the full regs whether finger lakes tribs upstream to the first barrier still have special regs

I'd think the regulations from the lake to the first barrier upstream still stands otherwise they would have announced a more specific change.

Also, why does the DEC close walleye season on Skaneateles? Surprised they don't keep it open year round if they want those walleye out of there.

The full guide is out now I am relieved there are no changes to the trout in the finger lakes and tribs. But I hope people aren’t confused by the publicized statewide changes as applying to finger lakes because I have seen people fishing in a closed creek this winter and told them it’s closed, they didn’t know
