Sold / Closed Etec 130 outboard

2011 Evenrude Etec 130, formerly owned by an older man who kept it on a cottage boat hoist most of the season on Sodus Bay. Runs great and looks really clean but unknown hours. can they not plug into the motor to get the hours? hard sell not knowing hours

I had a 2006 etec 115 and they plugged it in and not only told me the hours but the hours at a given rpm. Had a lot of hours under 1000 because I trolled with it.

Yes, this motor is 5 yrs newer than my old one.

Hours can be determined easy enough if you have the plug and software or by nema 2000. That doesn't mean the seller has the ability.

Bought it on the boat at the old arneys in Sodus . They no longer have the software. Tried to get it tested at Pugsleys and was told they couldn’t get to it for several weeks.

Not really...Hrs can contribute to price but certainly isn't the biggest factor in the ability to sell the motor. A test run, compression test, and maintenance records...in that order!

Boat is at marine and a compression check can be done there. Has a long shaft.
