Recommended Posts

We worked Hughes to Pultneyville in 70-140 fow in a chippy SE wind 7am to 9:30. Took one smallish king on a  lg. dipsey out 100 on a 2 setting. NK 28 black/silver/purple. Had one other fish on the rigger down 65 over 80 fow. Firetiger pirate 40 ft back. Long range release on that one. Surface temp 53,  48 down 60. Marked no bait or fish. Catch a big one!

Motored from P’Ville to Ginna this morning. Found fish and bait in 120-140ft, down about 100 where the temp started to break. Took an 18# king and a 20# laker on 450’ copper with meat. Took another 15#  king on a dipsey with dodger/fly out 295’. Quit at noon.

Nice job, John. I fished solo yesterday morning. Had 6 hits but couldn’t hold on to them. Had a real screamer on a dipsey out 250 over 165 but lost him as I tried to slow the boat. Landed one laker. Fleas worse inside 150.

Fished the Bear Creek area this morning.  Bite was early.  Browns 62 over 160.  Kings 75 over 160-180.  Temp top was around 52, bottom closer to 90.  Mag spoon bite, silver/Green and silver/purple/black.  Fleas were bad, as we were running lighter line.  Seas were less than a foot out of the NW. No skippers today only low to mid twenties kings. Could not get the dipseys to fire.  We increased the speed to about 2.5 and the salmon got more active.  All clean fish. No lampreys.

Slow day off Bear Creek this morning. 1 for 4 with a small king. Temp was still between 60 and 80 ft over 140.  Screen was blank most of the time, but look very good off Gannett in 90 fow. Many suspended fish 70-75 over 90. Could not get anything to fire. Pulled the pug around 10, as it was already smoking hot out there. Spoke to another boat at the launch that was fishing in the 250 ft range. They had 2 skippers and an 8lb. fish.⁹

We fished the same timeframe out of P’Ville with similar results. Lots of marks 80 and 100 over 120-140. Missed a couple good shots on the dipseys out 250 but no big kings landed. Too a couple 12-15# lakers, a 5# brown and a skippy king. Sun was a scorcher!
